Projects
This page highlights the projects the club has undertaken in recent times to maintain and improve the facility for club members and the general public.
Courts 1 and 2 Upgrade
The upgrade to courts 1 & 2 is now complete and they look and play fantastic.
Have a look through the gallery of images as they take shape.
A big thank you to the Qld Government Dep’t of National Parks Sport and Recreation, Custom Court Constructions and Tennis Queensland for their assistance in this project.
BBQ Area
We have just recently completed another upgrade to the centre. We now have a fully covered BBQ and Viewing Area complete with a fully covered walkway from the squash courts to the main building.
This upgrade was made possible thanks to funding from the Dept of National Parks, Sport and Recreation.
Thanks also to Zac Price from ZS Price Constructions and Renovations for the great completion of this project. This will be a fantastic addition to our centre.

Court 5-7 Upgrade
The Court 5-7 upgrade is now well and truly underway.
Our Court 5-7 upgrade is now complete. The courts will be ready to play on the Friday, just in time for the first day of the 2016 Rio Tinto Gladstone Open Age tournament.
A very big thank you to Marty Fenwick from Custom Court Constructions and Norm East Sports Surfacing for their fantastic workmanship. If you’re looking to build or surface a tennis court or similar, look these guys up, they truly are the experts in their field.

Training Room
Thanks largely to a $50000 QGC grant we now have a training/meeting room available for hire by club members and the general public, as well as other clubs, associations and organisations. The training room was officially opened in May this year and has been regularly used for training courses and meetings.
During this period we also refurbished our Function Room. This room is also available to the public for hire. Click on the link to find more information.
Tennis Hitting Wall
A Tennis Queensland Grant allowed us to upgrade the hitting wall in 2015. The wall was freshly painted, with the inclusion of a net painted on the surface, and has participated in many rallies since the upgrade.
Fig Trees next to Court 15
Gladstone Regional Council recently assisted us with the removal of 3 Fig trees adjacent to court 15. New turf and tennis court friendly shrubs and trees were provided and planted by GRC, giving this area a neat clean look.
